We were challenged to discuss some big concepts such as dissonance and deficit thinking.
One of the main things I felt challenged by was deficit thinking. How can I change my thinking and change my practise to do as much as I can for children while they are in my care? To a certain extent we need to take out issues of a less than desirable home environment or lack of parent involvement and engagement. Do the best you can for the children and their families that you can. Expect results!
